Meet Eva & Sergio
Eva and Sergio are the duo behind Voodoo Blues, a project born from their passion for Blues music, dance and its history. Since 2018, they have been actively building and nurturing Blues dance communities, first in Madrid and since 2020 in Valencia, where they teach, organize events and promote the culture behind the music.
As teachers, they combine musicality, connection, Blues dance styles and cultural context, encouraging dancers to go beyond the steps and connect with the music they are dancing to. Their passion for Blues also extends to their DJ sessions, where they explore the history and evolution of the music, from its deepest roots to R&B, Soul, Funk and other styles born from the Blues. They play both digital and, especially, vinyl, always searching for new records, forgotten artists and stories to share with the dance floor.
They have taught in Madrid, Valencia, Munich, Ankara and Guglionesi, and have DJed across Spain, Portugal, Italy, Germany, Turkey and China.

Saturday – Jukin’
1. Back to the Roots (1h 20m)
An intimate and introspective look at dancing in the juke joints. In this class, we will explore the close embrace in a relaxed and fluid way, while searching for our own expression and communication with our partner.
2. Rhythms & Musicality (1h 20m)
Shuffle, triples and triplets. Enrich your dancing with rhythms and variations. We will learn how to navigate between and transition through the rhythms most commonly used in jukin’, while using them to enrich our footwork and variations.
3. Chicago Style (1h 20m)
Let’s get electric. We will dive deeper into the aesthetics of this more energetic Blues style and discover how to use the tools we have explored so far to create a more dynamic dance.
Sunday – Ballroomin’
1. The Fundamentals of Ballroomin’ (1h)
A review of the fundamentals, aesthetics, connection and characteristic walks of Ballroomin’. Through the close embrace, we will work on elegant walks and the characteristic dissociation of this more elegant Blues style.
2. Traveling Around the Dance Floor (1h)
Turns, turns and more turns. We will learn how to change direction and turn while walking, while maintaining fluidity in our dancing. We will also explore different ways of changing the connection.
3. Let’s Get Stylish (1h)
Dips and tricks that you can actually use on the dance floor. We will explore different safe and accessible figures to add that wow effect to your dancing. We will learn how to take care of ourselves and our partner, while also being mindful of our fellow dancers on the floor.
Guided practice session with social dancing (1h)
For one hour, we will enjoy a social dance with a variety of Blues songs, where you can come and ask us any questions you may have. Put what you have learned in the classes into practice while enjoying the dance floor with your fellow dancers, and let’s put the finishing touch on this wonderful weekend.

Widerruf / Stornierung / Verlegung oder Absage der Veranstaltung
Kein Widerrufsrecht: Auch wenn die Registrierung beim Workshop oder der Veranstaltung über Fernkommunikationsmittel im Sinne des§ 312c Abs. 2 BGB stattfindet und damit gemäß § 312c Abs. 1 BGB ein Fernabsatzvertrag vorliegen kann, besteht gemäß § 312g Abs. 2 Nr. 9 BGB kein Widerrufsrecht bei der Anmeldung am Workshop oder der Veranstaltung. Dies bedeutet, dass ein zweiwöchiges Widerrufsrecht nicht besteht. Die Anmeldung ist damit unmittelbar nach der Anmeldebestätigung durch den Veranstalter gemäß Ziffer 2 bindend und verpflichtet zur Bezahlung der Vergütung.
Stornierung: Die Stornierung der Anmeldung ist grundsätzlich ausgeschlossen. Kann der Teilnehmer aus persönlichen Gründen (z.B. Krankheit) nicht am Workshop oder der Veranstaltung teilnehmen, kann er dies per E-Mail an guelistan.koc@boogie-baeren.de mitteilen. Der Veranstalter wird sich in diesem Fall bemühen, einen Ersatz zu finden. Eine Verpflichtung dazu besteht jedoch nicht. Falls es gelingt, rechtzeitig den Teilnahmeplatz anderweitig zu vergeben, wird die vom Teilnehmer entrichtete Vergütung zurückerstattet.
Verlegung oder Absage: Wenn der Workshop oder die Veranstaltung aus vom Veranstalter zu vertretenden Gründen nicht stattfindet oder zeitlich verlegt wird, wird die vom Teilnehmer entrichtete Vergütung zurückerstattet.
